While the body of the vehicle is being prepared, our mechanics are busy restoring each of the sub assemblies. All trim is straightened and refinished. The interior pieces are reupholstered. All of the mechanical parts and accessories are rebuilt. Each of the four suspension corners are disassembled, stripped and either painted or plated. All of the bearings and bushings are replaced and the shocks are rebuilt. Each corner is then reassembled on the bench and prepared to be bolted onto the car. |
The engine is torn completely apart and measured for tolerance. In all cases, the valve seats, guides, bearings, seals, valve springs, and rings are replaced. In most cases, we find it necessary to replace the pistons, rods, and valves as well. The block, heads and cylinder liners are line bored and the entire valve train is reassembled and tested to ensure that all of the valves are properly seated.. The engine is then blueprinted and reassembled to exacting tolerances. When the time comes, the engine is lowered into the vehicle and all of the accessories are attached. Once the car has been completed, the engine will be run in and fine tuned on a chassis dynamometer before being delivered to the customer or being presented at it's first show |
